As you are aware, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has decided to close all public and private schools for the remainder of the school year.  Due to this action, the Natick Public Schools will be issuing pro-rated refunds for any before or after school program (BOKS, ASAP, Athletics) and other fee-based services (NHS parking fees, food services and bus fees).  As you can imagine this is a daunting process with several hundred refunds due to many individuals.

In those instances where a check was written and mailed to the respective program, many of those checks have not been deposited.  If you are one of those individuals whose check was not deposited, the program administrator will be contacting you to discuss either destroying the check or mailing the check back to you.

PRESCHOOL
For our Pre-school program, payments for the May and June tuitions will be reduced by 50% for both months.  If you have already paid the full amount for these months, a refund check will be sent to you.  May payments deadline has been extended to May 15.

FOODSERVICES
For the food service program, any uncollected breakfast/lunch fees are expected to be paid before June 30.  For all remaining bad debt as of this date, state law requires NPS to pay for this amount from its general operating funds.  Please make every effort to pay any outstanding balances. 

ALL OTHER FEE-BASED SERVICES
For all other fee-based services such as NHS parking fees, food services or bus fees, any balance on those accounts will appear as a credit balance for the upcoming school year.  If you are experiencing a financial hardship and wish to apply for a refund for these programs, please visit the Natick Public Schools website at
http://www.natickps.org/departments/business/financial_assistance_program and complete a financial assistance form.

All of our programs, individuals will receive a complete reconciliation of any program fee/payment along with an explanation of the anticipated refund/credit you should expect.  For those individuals who wish to donate any or all of the refund amount, you may write to program administrator and indicate your preference to donate those funds back to the program in order to help defray costs.

 

Please understand that due to the remote nature of our business office along with the Town of Natick’s processing capabilities, refund checks will be issued in the next 4-6 weeks.  As always, we appreciate your understanding during these difficult times.  If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the respective program administrator or write to me at pgray@natickps.org
