Elementary Enrichment Programs

Elementary enrichment courses run on a six-week basis and are open to students who attend the school at which each course is offered. Classes are designed and led by NPS staff and focus on hands-on exploration and collaborative fun! Tuition is $75/course. Watch your school's e-blast for sign-up information in the weeks before each session.

Courses begin at school dismissal (so make sure to pack a nut-free snack!) and end at the following time depending on the school*: Ben-Hem: 4:00PM; Brown, Johnson, Lilja: 4:15PM; Memorial: 4:30PM.

*Courses may not be offered at every school each session.

BEN-HEM: Masters of Art, Tuesdays (Grades K - 1) The fun continues with a new session of Masters of Art and a whole new group of artists to discover. Join Ms. Curtis and learn all about these "Masters of Art" through fun, creative, and hands-on projects.  Each week we’ll study a famous artist and use their artwork as inspiration for creating our own masterpieces. Participants should wear or bring clothes that can get messy! Ms. Curtis (Session Dates: 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/28, 3/7) Art Room

BEN-HEM: Book Art, Wednesdays (Grades 2 - 4) Do you love to read AND love art? In this class we will read excerpts of books like Harry Potter, James and the Giant Peach, and Charlotte's Web and create crafts inspired by our reading. Join us for creative fun! BEN-HEM: Group Voice Lessons, Thursdays (Grades 1 - 4) During group vocal lessons, students will learn basic fundamentals of singing. We will focus on controlled breathing, diction, warm-ups, and vocal health. Students will then apply lessons to contemporary songs and perform them for parents on the last day of class. BROWN: The Coding Club, Tuesdays (Grades 2 - 4) Join Mr. Albert and Mr. Stefanowicz to dive into computer science, design thinking, and STEM challenges. Learn to program robots and see what coding is all about. Mr. Albert and Mr. Stefanowicz (Session Dates: 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/28, 3/7) TBD

LILJA: Improv for Elementary, Thursdays (Grades 2 - 4) Students will learn to take risks, say, "Yes!" and support team members in this interactive class. We play games, create scenes (in more ways than one!), and practice new ways to play. Please bring a sense of adventure! MEMORIAL: Legomania, Tuesdays (Grades K - 4) In this class, students will work together, design, and build creatively with Legos and K'NEX. Come join the fun! Children will also have the chance to express their imagination by developing stories to share about their creations. MEMORIAL: Fairy Tale STEM, Thursdays (Grades 2 & 3) Help out fairy tale characters by completing STEM challenges! Can you create a bridge to help the Billy Goats Gruff cross the river, or build a house that the Big Bad Wolf can't blow down? We'll have fun integrating literature and engineering in these team-based activities! Participants should bring cardboard recycles (cereal boxes, toilet paper tubes, etc.). MEMORIAL: Coding 101, Thursdays (Grades 2 & 3) Students will explore fun, hands-on tools such as Ozobot, OSMO Coding, Code.org, and Code & Go Mouse to learn computer programming and computational thinking skills. Ms. Scott (Session Dates: 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 3/2, 3/9) Room 3.1 and Computer Lab
 
On or before the registration deadline, families will receive an email regarding enrollment status. Payment is due one week after the registration deadline. Do not pay tuition until you have received an enrollment confirmation. Children for whom we do not receive payment by the deadline will be removed from the course. Space is limited; registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Children may only attend courses offered at their home school.
  • We cannot accommodate change or withdrawal requests after the registration deadline.
  • Children should bring a water bottle and nut-free snack.
  • Children enrolled in ASAP on the day of their elementary enrichment course[s] will be escorted back to ASAP at the end of the enrichment class.
  • Financial Assistance does not apply to Elementary Enrichment tuition.
